I normally don’t post my weekend wear, but I wanted to share this weekend look because I wore it for my family’s annual outing to the Chicago Christkindle Market (http://www.christkindlmarket.com). We always enjoy potato pancakes, applesauce, cinnamon sugar pecans, and other German treats. Ever better, this year there wasn’t 1) snow 2) below freezing temps 3) sleet or rain. Woo hoo! Let’s hope for the same again next year!
Sweater: Gap ($9 marked down from $50)
Denims shirt: Gap ($16 marked down from $60)
Pants: Forever 21 ($9)
Necklace: thrift ($5, retails for $40)
Purse: Mohzy tech bag via If Chic ($119)
Boots: Uggs ($90 marked down from approx $150)
Fashion Huntress tips:
1) Every year, Gap releases a seasonal holiday pattern (normally in November). I’m always a fan of these holiday patterns and colors. The one featured in this post is last year’s holiday pattern. The holiday pattern pieces (sweaters, hats, scarves, mittens) are usually on sale by January and February (hence how I got mine for $9)! You can see below how I styled this sweater last winter and one of the matching scarves. So versatile and thin enough to wear in fall, winter, and early spring.
2) Uggs may not be the most attractive shoe (understatement), but they are unparalleled for warmth for me. I cannot say it enough- waterproof, waterproof, waterproof your boots! Additionally, many dry cleaners will clean your boots at the end of winter if the salt has stained and hardened your pair. I have one pair that I wear in salt and snow that are waterproof by design and one pair that I keep out of the snow and salt outdoors. You can generally finds Uggs for sale at Nordstrom Rack and Saks off Fifth- easiest way to get them at a discount!
Anyone else have suede boot tips? I loved the tips from the last post regarding care of leather boots! Thanks so much for stopping by readers!

Agree with Dasha, love that sweater. This also reminds me how much I miss my Oma’s holiday pecans. Tip~ be careful using spray waterproof on suede,it can discolour the finish.
Love that sweater!
I must say that I’m a little envious on all the delicious things you had savoured at the Christmas market with your family – sounds absolutely exquisite in the most festive manner possible.
PS: LOVE that sweater; very fitting to the holiday season and perfect for a comfy, casual weekend outfit.

I love my Uggs a lot. I don’t care what anyone says. You look great, love the boots.
*sigh* You have no idea how I wish I had the time to be able to actually put together outfits to wear like you do. I’m lucky if I throw a clean tee shirt and jeans on every day. LOL You are so talented and so beautiful. And about that snow …. this year I am ready. This year I am waiting and HOPING to get at least a dusting so I can make my Christmas cards this year to send to my family and friends. LOL Typical. Here I am prepared and no snow. Truthfully I am enjoying this weather we are having …. what a JOY not to walk in snow, sleet or slush!! Dry roads. NICE!!! 🙂 ❤
What a lovely sweater! Love your bag too! 😉 xo Vivian
