I’ve always been a fan of the intermittent gray day- especially a quiet gray day with a little snow falling silently (key here: a little snow). I guess I must have been inspired by Mother Nature, because I wound up in a shadowy grayish outfit, which seemed to match the surroundings. It’s the perfect blend of spots, snow, and shadows.

Fashion Huntress tips:
1) As you can see from the photos below, I last featured this shirt and necklace combination with a much lighter look. By adding tall boots and a blazer, the top and necklace went from spring/summer to winter/fall. If I could live in denim and blazers for work…I probably would! I find my favorite denim shirts at Gap; they are regularly on sale and can be washed a ton and still look new.
2) Sadly, I finally wore through the soles my old black boots. I don’t even think they can be restored at this point, which is sadly my own doing! That being said, if you want to keep your boots in good shape, you do need to keep an eye on the heels and soles and bring them in for repairs and restoration potentially every 1-2 years, depending on usage and quality. Remember to store your boots either in their original boxes, or stuffed with paper and standing up. Leather boots will also need conditioning. Check out your shoe brand’s website for specific instructions for your boots!
Anyone else have boot care tips? Thanks so much for stopping by, readers! Have a good start to your week!
Love this outfit!!!! I love your new boots. I try to take really good care of my shoes, getting them resoled when needed. Unfortunately I think the humid weather in NC slowly destroys the glue that’s used in shoes because I’ve had a lot of issues with shoes that come apart. Can’t wait to see how else you style those awesome pants!
mmm, I never thought of that- but you are probably right! I usually only wear winter boots during winter while outdoors because of the salt…but I used to wear my old pair a lot outside and I think the salt eventually contributed to cracks in the soles! Ah well, what are you gonna do?!
Nice boots! The salt and snow can really do a number on boots and shoes during the winter. Been there! Joys of living in a cold weather city 😦 I usually make sure I condition them with mink oil at least a couple of times a month. By the way I love your necklace, super funky. Great look.
