My earliest memories of shopping were with my grandmother, Ann. She would make quite the day of taking my sister and me to the big department stores to find a holiday dress or a first day of school outfit. She didn’t, however, limit herself to stores. My grandmother was also a talented seamstress, who would often make our pajamas, dresses, and other outfits. My other earliest memories of shopping were with my mother, who would take my sister and me shopping for our annual back to school clothes (can you say overalls and sweater vests with matching scrunchies?) My mother, also a talented seamstress, could whip up a Halloween costume like no other. Back in those days, my sister would always share her grown-up clothes with me. She would show me how to style up my overalls, and the importance of mismatching socks and choker necklaces (what up late 80s early 90s?).
Long story short, fashion, for me, has always been about celebrating next steps, marking an occasion, welcoming another day, and exhibiting your personality. I have a life long love of clothing, fashion, accessories, self expression, and the joy that it can bring to your life. Whether it be something old, something new, something borrowed, something created, or something dreamed up in our minds, there are endless opportunities for transformation and expression around every corner.
Questions? Comments? Suggestions? Curious about how to style something?

About my photographs:
Photographer, August 2015- present: all photos are taken by me using the following (since people often ask!): tripod, bluetooth remote (both from Amazon), and my iPhone. It’s not a fancy set-up, but it definitely works!
Photographer, February 2013- July 2015:
G, who has been a friend, colleague, officemate, and all around partner in crime for many years. When she’s not taking photos and helping me with my poses, G can be found hanging out with her family, raising her wonderful children, taking walks around the city with her dog Coco, and all around being fabulous (which, quite frankly, is a full time job in and of itself). A big thank you to G for contributing to this blog and helping to make the Fashion Huntress what it is today.
A shout-out to the other blog contributors: my editors (my mom, my sister, my second half A), my fiancé, J, (for graciously agreeing to take photos whenever I ask), and to all of the dedicated readers, supporters (you know who you are!), and the blogging community. Thank you for your endless support in making my dream come true: Dream Big. xo.
