stop and smell the roses

Sometimes I forget the wonderful splendors around me because I’m busy rushing from one place to another, taking care of errands, going to work, going to the grocery store, blah blah blah. But, I’ve been working on being more mindful of taking a breath. This week, my husband and I took another trip to the local gardens and, sigh, it’s just such a beautiful place. It really makes me happy to stop and smell the roses. What about you, readers? What things of beauty are you seeing in the world around you? Leave a comment below!

Fashion Huntress tips:

1) Aside from a black, white, or denim blazer, one item I wear endlessly is a shrug. It’s perfect for cold office air conditioning, and for offering some coverage when needed. I have shrugs in three basic colors: black, navy, and cream. You can’t go wrong with any of these colors and, if you don’t already, you’ll wear them all the time! White House Black Market normally has a good selection, as does Nordstrom Rack.

2) If you want to tone down neon (I personally love how bright it is!), you can add a neutral shirt underneath (denim would work), or layer a cardigan on top. You could also opt for neutral jewelry (versus the statement necklace I wore in this look) and shoes, and then your neon is definitely ready to go in almost any situation.

Anyone else embracing neon and summer? Have a good week readers! Thanks so much for stopping by!
