friend and faux

Well it’s been, per usual, a whirlwind week leading up to the wedding (now less than three weeks away!). Between work and planning, I’ve been sneaking in a few blog photos when I can!! I was loving the dreamy-fantasy look in these photos, given the early morning sun. The sitting area ended up looking, to me, like a cozy sun drenched cave. Add in my faux fur vest, and it was quiet cozy indeed. This my friend, and faux, fur vest cave cozy look. That’s a mouthful! But feels totally fitting to me.

Fashion Huntress tips:

1) Faux fur vests…they always look cool to me, but I wasn’t sure if I could pull one off. Pssht, what was I thinking? Anyone can pull off a faux fur vest! It’s so much more versatile than you might think! I found that I’ve been wearing mine like I would a coat, but a coat that I can wear indoors. This vest looks especially great with dark skinny jeans and booties, so it can easily transition from a work look to a weekend look. Nordstrom Rack and TJ Maxx had the best selections at the best prices that I’ve seen thus far. So if you’re contemplating a faux fur vest, I say go for it!

2) I wear this dress a LOT. As you will see in the photo below, I’ve also styled it with tights, booties, a statement necklace, and a sweater on top. Shirt dresses are, by far, one of the easiest transitional pieces you can. You can wear them pretty much all year round and style them in very different ways. Almost all of my shirt dresses are from Gap. While the quality of them isn’t quite what it used to be a few years ago, I do find that if you look for the thicker material shirt dresses, they are quite durable. I recommend the “double ply” versions at Gap, versus the thinner one layer of fabric dresses. The thinner dresses have ended up with small holes after multiple washes. It’s nothing that can’t be easily sewn up, but save yourself the trouble and look for the thicker dresses.

Anyone else have recommendations for vests or shirt dresses? Thanks so much for stopping by, readers! I appreciate it so very much! Happy Monday!
