Y’all, fun fact part 1 was so fun, I just HAD to do another fun fact post! So, without further ado! Additional fun facts and leave yours below- that’s the best part!
Hablo español! A lot of people don’t realize that I am bilingual 🙂 I spent a year living in Spain, and I also majored in Spanish literature during my undergrad years. Spanish comes in handy all the time; I wish I spoke even more languages! Maybe one day #lifegoals.
I used to get made fun of for my glasses and my hair! I just was chatting with my sister the other day about the challenges of middle school and high school; we both had stories. I’ve had glasses since 2nd grade, and I used to get made fun of for them, as well as for wearing my hair in a ponytail. Isn’t that ridiculous?! It took me a long time to own my glasses since I can’t wear contacts, but now I really do own them. They are part of my identity. And, I still love ponytails. Man, kids those (these) days, am I right, so petty!

This gorgeous backdrop is from our last trip to New Orleans a couple of months ago; New Orleans is full of wonderfully kind people, fabulous food, a vivid culture, and so much more. I feel grateful that my travels have led me there twice, and I can’t wait to go back. Also, shout-out to the hubs for sparing me the trouble of my tripod and remote his photos are always so much more fabulous than my own! Happy weekend, readers!

Every once in a while it occurs to me that many people know me via my blog, but not much more! I would love love love it if you left a random fact about you in the comments below; there are so many of you that I know via your blogs as well, and I love our virtual community! So, to kick off the random fact party, I’ll share a few! I’ll spare the I ❤ fashion fact, because you all already know that.
I love to read. When I was a kid, my parents read to us nightly and always brought us on trips to the library and the bookstore, which I think created a strong love of books in me. Used bookstores and libraries are probably some of my most favorite places on Earth.
I love label makers. I will label just about anything and everything. My closet is full of labeled bins 🙂 It just makes life easier when you can find whatever you need, whenever you want, right?!
I didn’t always like dogs. When I was a kid, I LOVED animals and learning about them. (You can ask any member of my family about my ongoing love of whales.) When I met my to-be husband, he mentioned he wanted to get a dog. I was so stressed out, I couldn’t imagine caring for a dog. HA! I love our dog to bits now, and will now approach any dog imaginable on the street like a total creep. “CAN I PET YOUR DOG?!”
Dress: c/o Sammydress ($16)
Leave a random fact below- should you so choose! I would love to hear about you, readers!
Alrighty, this week was my first foray into online abroad shopping and I’m here to tell you about it! I’ve read a lot of reviews regarding “fast fashion” and abroad markets; frankly, the reviews were completely mixed. Some reviews were great, others were terrible. So, I’m going to speak from my perspective knowing that it’s just that- my experience alone.
I was approached by Zaful to review their clothing in exchange for an honest review; I am not being financially compensated for this post nor through an affiliate program, so these opinions truly are my own! Okay, so the website has a LOT of items for sale. A. Lot. That being said, I found the best way to approach the website was to type in a keyword search like “fit and flare dress” (my favorite shape), and then review what items came up. Simply paging through all the items for sale is impossible; there’s just too much. That all being said, the negative feedback I read online was “slow delivery” and “wrong sizing.” The response from Zaful was “read the sizes” and “check the delivery times.” Alrighty. I did just that. I read the sizes (they vary from item to item) and I planned for a longer shipping time than an item coming to me from the US. These items go through customs, so yes, the shipping takes longer. That all being said, I got exactly what I ordered, in the two week time frame, and the sizes were all accurate. My honest opinion is that this was pretty straightforward and I really like the dress; the quality is what you would expect from a shop like Zara, H&M, etc. I hope that if you choose to order, you have the same experience that I did. I’d love any feedback in the comments section, if you have any!

Flouncy sleeves are everywhere right now, and I’m all in. I found this top at Zara, but the style is really easily found in a lot of stores right now. I’ve had my eye on basically every item Johanna Ortiz creates…but will settle for ready to wear versions, as her dream creations are out of my price range! She’s all over my Pinterest “oh la la” board, if you want to see these dreamy creations for yourself. Long story short, I’m feeling the flounce this summer.
Top: Zara ($20 marked down from approx $50)
Jeans: Old Navy ($10 marked down from $35)
Shoes: DSW ($5 marked down from approx $75)
My first Zaful order came in! I’ll post the items shortly, and my full review! In the meantime, I’m awaiting my first Rosegal order. I found some off the shoulder tops that I’m eager to style; I’m impressed by the variety of sizes in their clothing, as well as the variety of styles in general. There’s plus size workout attire, yoga attire, plus size active wear, leggings in all shapes and sizes and seriously a million more styles. As soon as my Rosegal order arrives, I’ll write up a full review.
My girl Andrea of A Spoonful of Sugar Baking recently suggested a closet challenge to me, and I was all in! I recently posted this top, sandals, and bracelets (pics below) and decided to challenge myself to re-style all of the items! #outfitrepeater The result was fun and challenging…so of course I’m signing up for an all month closet challenge (with myself-ha!)! Stay tuned, readers! And have a lovely weekend!

I’m waiting for my first Zaful order, but wondering if anyone has checked out Rosegal? If so, tell me your picks and your thoughts! I’m in the market for summer maxi dresses and summer suits! I never seem to tire of summer dresses, especially maxi dresses, which transition easily into fall with sweaters and cardigans. If you’ve checked out Rosegal let me know! I’ll post my first order ASAP! I’ve got my eye on some off the shoulder tops!
Happy official summer, readers! If you’ve seen my previous posts, you can tell I’m a huge fan of the Victoria Beckham line for Target. At my local Target, there were a few pieces remaining that went on super sale. So, of course, I did what usually happens when I’m at Target: I bought my groceries…and a dress. Seriously, I should avoid that place at all costs and yet… 🙂

It’s #monthlymani time! This month’s theme was ‘Here Comes the Sun’ – perfect for summer, of course! My #monthlymani girl Kristi totally shone brightly with her take on the theme! We even used the same yellow! #twinsies. Be sure to head over to Kristi to check out her mani as well!
