And, lastly, for this month’s #monthlymani: it’s a Pumpkin Spice theme! I chose Leggy Legend by Essie as the perfect pumpkin spice color with a little maroon on top to add some depth. Be sure to head over to Kristi to check out her fall themed #monthlymani!

Ahhhh we are having such glorious fall weather here in Chicago…it’s pure bliss! Now that Halloween has passed, my mind is moving towards Thanksgiving and, of course, Christmas. While always a busy season, it’s a season full of blessings. I’m looking forward to all of the seasonal activities, family time, friend time, and the last of the outdoor walks before winter hits. …and of course, celebrating fall fashion the rest of the month.

Fashion Huntress tips:

1) This is my first pair of super wide leg pants. At first I felt a little daunted by them! How does one style such a wide leg and flowy pant? I decided by pairing the wide leg pants with a streamlined blouse and jacket, and a pair of heels. While I do think you could wear flats with a super wide leg pant, it might look as though you aren’t wearing shoes! So, I recommend going with a kitten or high heel. Also remember to look for a pant that is lined, given that the material is on the thin/gauzy side.

2) Nothing says classy to me like a tweed blazer or jacket. Fortunately, they are really easy to come by just about anywhere these days. While I personally would love a Chanel version…that’s “a little” out of my price range (ha!). However, there are plenty of alternatives at thrift stores, Forever 21, H&M, Marshall’s, and TJ Maxx. Blazers don’t need to be super high quality unless you plan on wearing them every singe day. You can go for a mid range tweed blazer, and find that it elevates any outfit!

fawning over fall

Is it just me, or are a lot of people also getting excited for fall (and fall fashion) this August?

Case in point, I was recently at a great sale at Gap; everything was 40% off their entire sale section.

Most of their bright pants were marked down to less than $10.

I liked these bright colored pants a LOT, but I decided that I wanted to get a color that would be wearable throughout more than just spring and summer. Thus, I ended up with this orange shade:

I think this shade of orange is great for summer, but also for fall. They were the perfect pick for my fall mentality!

If you’re in the market for fall fashion, like me, then consider shopping the summer sales with transitional pieces in mind. These orange pants, for example, would look great with a thick dark navy or black sweater and booties in fall. For summer, I’ll pair them with sandals and a white t-shirt or tank top.

This is a really great time of year to sale shop for summer clothes, but you can also find a ton of great stuff that can transition into fall too. Check out their sale online- still 40% off their sale section! http://www.gap.com

Happy Sunday, readers! I hope everyone is enjoying the weekend! Thank you for visiting!
