about the fashion huntress

I began The Fashion Huntress blog in 2013 on a whim and kept it going for years. I took a hiatus from 2018-2020 while I was pregnant and had a child, moved jobs..lots life stuff just took over the vast majority of my free time! I started up again, however, in 2020 as a way to boost my spirits and encourage myself to change out of sweatpants during the extremely tough time of the global pandemic. Returning to The Fashion Huntress has brought me great joy and I’m so grateful to the community whom I have met along the way.

Fashion, for me, has always been about celebrating next steps, marking an occasion, welcoming another day, and sharing your personality. I have a life long love of clothing, fashion, accessories, self expression, and the joy that it can bring to your life. Whether it be something old, something new, something borrowed, something created, or something dreamed up in our minds, there are endless opportunities for transformation and expression everywhere. No matter if you’re going out, or staying in, wear what you love.

Please feel free to drop me a line at: thefashionhuntress@gmail.com

Thanks for stopping by and sharing in the Fashion Huntressing.

About my photographs:

Photographer, August 2015- present: all photos are taken by me using the following (since people often ask!): tripod, bluetooth remote (both from Amazon), and my iPhone. It’s not a fancy set-up, but it definitely works!

Photographer, February 2013- July 2015:

G, who has been a friend, colleague, officemate, and all around partner in crime for many years. When she’s not taking photos and helping me with my poses, G can be found hanging out with her family, raising her wonderful children, taking walks around the city with her dog Coco, and all around being fabulous (which, quite frankly, is a full time job in and of itself). A big thank you to G for contributing to this blog and helping to make the Fashion Huntress what it is today.

A shout-out to the other blog contributors: my editors (my mom, my sister, my second half A), my fiancé, J, (for graciously agreeing to take photos whenever I ask), and to all of the dedicated readers, supporters (you know who you are!), and the blogging community. Thank you for your endless support in making my dream come true: Dream Big. xo.

    1. Of course! What’s the link to your Etsy account? I’d love to see your page!
And thank you for the support and for your kind words! Fashion is definitely my hobby, but my heart lies in the medical field! It’s fun to combine both 🙂

    1. Hi! I love hearing about other people going into healthcare! I love it more than fashion, which is clearly saying a lot. 😉 Thanks for visiting my blog! I checked yours out and love it!! Glad we can follow each other!

In regards to the polish in the photo, the colors are:
Tickled Pink by Wet n’ Wild ($1) and Turquoise and Caicos by Essie ($7.50)

I featured the same colors in a post, but styled the colors differently:

      Xo!

    1. Of course! I love your blog and I truly appreciate your support of mine. I’ve been so surprised and pleased at the sense of community that develops through blogging. I’m glad we can follow and support each other!

  3. it’s really nice to see blogs that talk about fashion as part of real, everyday life because while it’s nice to fantasize about couture and runway shows, fashion can be so impractical! lovely blog, and amazing nails in the pictures here!! xx

    1. I know…I love runway and couture, especially around this time of year when fashion weeks are occurring! But I do love the more practical side of fashion where the world is our runway 🙂 Thanks for your feedback and for visiting!! xo

  4. I love your blog, so colorful, fun and fresh. Love your style fellow health professional. Thanks for following my blog too. Stay Blessed. 🙂

  5. It’s so great to see you visiting me every day. Thank you so much for taking the time to like my posts. I really appreciate and smile every time your name comes up on my notifications. Thank you for the support. Some days this can be really difficult.

    XoXo

    1. Absolutely! I enjoy reading your blog!! It can be really difficult a lot of days. I love how supportive the blogging community can be because taking on a blog can really be a big undertaking. So glad we can follow each other 🙂
      xo

  6. Thanks so much for the likes for my posts, just started my blog, it’s nice that my posts reached you! I really like your blog, lots of good reviews and tips, I’ll try to generate something similar on my topic in the future 🙂

  7. I found your blog thanks to the lovely lady above me and her award 😀 And I’m glad I did. I can’t surf trough all the post but I love how you blog about fashion and not going into the stereotype of fashion blogs “it is the brand and oh so fabulous”. I think you know what I’m talking about. 😉 There is nothing wrong with those blogs, but I feel closer to your perspective and I love to combine outfits and jewelry, even make my own if I have an idea. And I tend to get a lot of ideas 😀 haha

    1. Thank you so much for sharing. I really appreciate your feedback! I feel very strongly that high quality clothing that people actually want to wear should be affordable and accessible! Fashion can be such a great extension of our personalities and what we want to convey to others. In the real world, real people have budgets, but should be able to wear what they want without worrying about breaking the bank. Thank you again for sharing! Can’t wait to visit your blog 🙂 Glad our paths have crossed! xo

      1. Me too! 😀 and to your comment – YES! I shop used clothes, I shop on sales, I shop in textile houses and I don’t think there is shame in that. I am happy because that way i can afford myself stuff that I want, and also the reason I learned how to sew on sewing machine… I have bought huuge blazer recently, it’s red and awesome and in for a completey make over from me. 😀 You can click on DIY categories to find what I did. Looking forward to your comments!

      2. I totally agree there’s no shame in that! And in regards to sewing, I got my machine a couple of years ago and I LOVE it! I still haven’t worked up to pattern work for clothing, but can definitely do basic alterations- it’s so rewarding to be able to do those things on your own. Can’t wait to see your DIYs!

  9. Ha! I just saw your about me page (was busy looking at your great posts and missed it before now) and wanted you to know I also work in the medical field (at a hospital as well) and I’m also always running around (decked out in my finest as those in scrubs look at me like I’m crazy) and snapping pics when I can. It made your windy day post all the more funny for me because I don’t know how many days I’ve literally ran outside the hospital despite wind/rain/snow to snap pictures for a post. I just love your blog and your style and keep up the beautiful posts! And thanks for commenting on my blog as well; comments always mean so much! Take care and happy blogging! xx Cortneybre…

    1. That is so funny! I love that you can relate! Yes, those in scrubs are always like…”wha…?” and my girlfriend and I literally run outside, despite the weather, to quickly snap photos- we get a LOT of looks. It’s hysterical!! Fashion bloggers in the medical field unite!! :)! I love your blog- you have such great style and I always look forward to your posts!! xo
