seeing sequins

If a favorite color can be sequins or glitter, then that would be mine. I finally was able to find a way to style it for work; the results were nothing short of pure joy…at least for me! Summer is finally here and I’m ready for it-! In sequins, of course.

Sequin top: J Crew via Savers thrift ($3, retails for approx $100)

Button down: Gap via Savers thrift ($3, retails for approx $55)

Pants: Gap ($15 marked down from $55)

Necklace: vintage via Greg’s Antiques in New Orleans ($3)

Sandals: Marshall’s ($10 marked down from approx $50)

Bag: Betsy Johnson “All that Jazz” bag via Marshall’s ($40 marked down from $110)

Fashion Huntress tips:

1) Sequin tops can be very tricky to wash without losing a few sequins- and I like to avoid dry cleaning costs if possible! So, I tossed this shirt in a small laundry bag with a few other items to soften around the shirt and tossed it in the washing machine on the delicate cycle. Voila! Shirt was good to go- and lost no sequins.

2) It’s hard to style glitter or sequins for work- but I’m pretty sure it can be done, at least for most work situations. In a more conservative work environment, you can button up the button down and cover more of the sequins. Another option is to wear a glitter or sequin top with a blazer and button up the blazer. Either way- it can be done!

  1. I love how this outfit doesn’t take away from the sequin top! It’s still allows it to be the main focal point without taking away its sparkle. I absolutely love the pom poms on the bag.

  2. I love this! A lady once recommended Dryell for dry clean only clothes. For me, it has worked! It’s much more inexpensive and you can do it at home. I love how much you saved on this outfit 🙂
