knowing in neon

I recently had lunch with a friend and was discussing confidence and lack thereof sometimes. My friend responded by saying that sometimes the only person that thinks we cannot do something is ourselves. …hmmm. That rang true for me, and I’m guessing, many others. We seem to be the least likely person to feel confident in taking a risk, while others around us are celebrating our risks. I’m holding on to the idea of “knowing” this week. Knowing and believing (in neon).

Top: thrift ($3)

Blazer: BCBG via thrift ($5, retails for approx $150)

Jeans: Levi’s ($88)

Shoes: Rampage via Amazon ($20, retail for approx $50)

Necklace: Bauble Bar ($24 marked down from $38)

Scarf: thrift ($3)

Fashion Huntress tips:

1) If you’re going to wear neon to work, I definitely think it works best to anchor it with neutral (blazer and jeans). You can see in the photos without the blazer that this top is a true neon- very bright! For a winter look, you could easily add a sweater over the top and just have a little pop of neon.

2) I like to thrift button downs because they are so versatile in terms of size. Most of them can be dry cleaned or washed at home- and are good as new! Always try them on and/or inspect them very careful for stains, tears, and snags. You may not see them right away, but some shirts will have been donated for that very reason.

Thanks so much for stopping by, readers! I appreciate it so very much!

  1. Hmmm, sometimes I think my prob is I’m too confident! Not in all things but sometimes I get this feeling of bravado, like I’m the shit and it doesnt always work in my favour and then othertimes I’m a scared lil’ turtle afraid to poke its head out of its shell…hmmm, anyhoo back to you: loving the Pop of neon and that gorg print scarf! ( :

  2. love that neon + neutral tip! and i’m amazed at how your scarf & blazer matches your whole get up (neon, beige, and pink are reflected everywhere). well done! 🙂
