I don’t think I can trace back my love of blazers. It’s not as though I was a wee Huntress wearing a blazer in elementary school. (Side note, would that have made me the coolest kid in school, or the oddest?). Anyway, well, apparently over the years, I developed a strong love of blazers and it just never left me. As Elle Woods says, “Always dress the part.”
Blazer: Zac Posen via consignment ($70, retails for $3,000)
Top: Banana Republic via thrift ($1, retails for $80)
Striped top: Banana Republic ($12 marked down from $35)
Jeans: Levi’s ($80)
Boots: White Mountain via TJ Maxx ($40 marked down from approx $100)
Bracelets: skull-Alexander McQueen (gift), spikes-Joomi Lim ($150)
Fashion Huntress tips:
1) I last featured this blazer all girly-ed up with an all pastel look. The versatility of blazers is basically endless, if you ask me. In the look above, I was able to dress the blazer down with jeans and boots, for a casual work look. In the look below, the blazer was dressed up as full blown business. Bottom line: you can’t go wrong with a tweed blazer.
2) For some reason, I really have a hard time understanding how to pick out jeans for myself. It’s my fashion Achilles heel! I find that the best thing to do is go straight to a jeans store and ask for help. I highly recommend the same should you be looking for an item that you find difficult to style/pick out for yourself. In speciality stores (jeans, shoes, etc), the sales personnel is generally quite knowledgeable in their products/pieces and can really help you out!
Anyone else have tips for picking out jeans? Have a favorite shop? Thanks so much for stopping by, readers! I appreciate it so much!
I love this outfit doll! And what a steal in that top! Amazing jewelry 🙂

I really love you styled the blazer, it’s a nice business woman look!
Love this outfit. 🙂
That blazer tho ✋🏼❤️😍😍
Nice! Love the contrasting patterns. All pant shopping is challenging for me. There is no uniform sizing anymore. A 3 in one brand may be a 0 in another. When a 0 is too big for me there is definitely something crazy going on! My favorite jeans are from H&M because they size by waste and length. http://www.hm.com/us/product/84214?article=84214-C&cm_vc=SEARCH#article=84214-A
OMG YES! this is a real issue- and thanks for the H&M tip!!
That blazer is lovely. The puff sleeve gives it a feminine feel. As always, love the way you have styled the outfit!! 🙂

Totally head over heels in LOVE with this outfit, Melissa. LOVE that coat. I used to wear coats in that style. 🙂 ❤ Now I have to focus on longer …. hiding the waistline that is traveling north. Tee hee …..
Wow! The coat looks so stylish and comfy at the same time. I like its color! 🙂
