I’m apologizing in advance for the lack of actual fancy fashion photos today. …well, I mean, as fancy as I get on the Fashion Huntress, at least. I had the (not so) brilliant idea of taking my photos outdoors today. I thought, “hey! It’s about 5 degrees above zero- it should be no problem!” Well, it was a problem. Ha. So, these are the best photos I could get in the two minutes I made it outdoors without a coat. #wintersafetyoverfashion
Dress: Ame Soeur via If Chic ($125 marked down from approx $450)
Necklace: Alexis Bittar via Nordstrom Rack ($30 marked down from $100)
Ring: Alexis Bittar via Nordstrom Rack ($40 marked down from $100)
Heels: Nine West via Savers ($8, retail for $100)
Fashion Huntress tips:
1) My top tip is don’t take outdoor photos in zero degree weather – HA! But, anyway, let’s move on from that. This dress is slightly thin (silk and cotton blend), so I just layered a long sleeve t-shirt underneath it. You can’t even notice the layer underneath and the dress was much warmer with another layer. As I always say, don’t limit your “summer wear” to just warm weather!
2) Curated websites such as If Chic and Moda Operandi have really great selections of clothes that you might not otherwise see. I found this dress on If Chic, researched the designer (Ame Soeur) and learned it was made in Berlin, Germany by two super cool sisters with great design ideas. You can learn more about them here: http://www.amesoeur.de – online shopping has a great edge in this domain, so check out curated websites if you are looking for some smaller indie brands!
It’s that time again: Monthly Mani! This month’s theme was the Pantone 2016 colors- rose quartz and serenity!

Love to layer summer fashion for winter! Great modern psychedelic tie-dye print. Looks wunderschön on you. More indie brands are doing digital print textiles. Thanks for sharing! ~cheers
I think you are right- and I am loving the digital prints! This indie brand definitely has my heart!
This is such an awesome dress! It looks absolutely amazing on you. I wouldn’t be brave enough to step outside without a coat, my gloves and a scarf.

I’ve been saying this past week that I really have to give it to Personal Style bloggers who do outside posts in Winter…loving the print of your dress and how the dress fits giving you a lovely curve definition. Have a fab wkend and no more experimenting without jackets for outdoor outfit posts! (:
LOL LOL good call! I won’t be braving the zero degrees again! Thank goodness it’s warming up- because I don’t know how else to take my photos!! 🙂
Thanks for the cold photo love, readers!! XO
Don’t get me started on how I dread taking pictures in the cold…the last couple of photoshoot the windchill has been around -25 to -30 celsius. I seriously curse the whole time!lol
Anyhow, on to your fab dress 🙂 I love the print and colour, such a fun piece to wear! Great look!
