Welcome, 2016! I always like the start of a new year…something about a new year feels like a fresh start. 2015 was a year of transitions and changes; I’m hoping 2016 is a year of continuing on a path to connection and contentment. And I hope that all of you find what you are seeking in 2016, too! Cheers to another year!

Fashion Huntress tips:
1) I like to have a few suits in my closet, especially one neutral suit. I personally like skirt suits, but that’s just me! Pant suits and skirt suits can be tough to find on super sale, so I recommend looking for them around this time of year when the sales have really taken off and clothing is heavily discounted. In addition to having the full suit as an outfit, you’ll have the option of wearing the skirt or the blazer as separates- making the pieces very versatile.
2) I try not to get too stuck in the “seasonality” of a piece of clothing. While these shoes may be “summer/spring” shoes, they can be paired with tights and a suit and easily worn in winter. The plaid shirt, as well, is fairly lightweight, but paired with layers, is perfect for winter. So, pull out your “spring and summer” clothing and see if there’s a few pieces you can wear now!
Anyone else have plans and goals for the New Year? Happy New Year! Thanks for stopping by, readers!
love your outfit! It’s a new year so I’m definitely going to try some of your tips and save money! I also love versatile pieces and love how you paired those shoes with tights and made it look winter appropriate! Come check out my latest outfit post on my blog as well! http://www.sincerelyaimee.com
Love everything about this! I don’t like to limit myself with seasonal clothing either but I do have to consider that our winters are short and summers are long, so I can repurposed spring or summer pieces much easier (like your shoes!).
Happy New Year! 🙂
