back to basics (pink and glitter)

Phew! How is it already almost Thanksgiving and Christmas?! Time is flyingI I feel like a lot of my time has been spent undergoing a steep learning curve in opening my business. I figure I’ll probably be a business genius one day at this rate- ha! Just kidding. I’ll solely remain a shoe expert. But, I’m proud that I’ve powered through, despite some periods of doubt and anxiety! My family and friends have been the most amazing supporters and cheerleaders around. Just in time for the holiday season, I’m reminded of how thankful I am to have a rockin’ support network. I decided to get back to my Fashion Huntress basics today with my outfit: pink and sparkles always help me to feel cozy and comfortable. I’m back to basics, and reflecting on thankfulness this holiday season…

Top: thrifted ($4)

Blazer: White House Black Market via thrift ($5)

Fashion Huntress tips:

1) It’s been a while since I have pulled out my dress pants, but I find that dress pants do go a long way in polishing off a look. For me, the key is finding a pair that is actually comfortable for long days. I’ve always had the best luck at Banana Republic for dress pants. They aren’t the cheapest pants, but you can always get them on sale, and frankly they last forever. I invested in charcoal gray dress pants back when I was a student…and they still look brand new almost ten years later. If you have a hard time finding a pair of pants that fit well (as we all do, right??), then this is a good article: http://www.realsimple.com/beauty-fashion/clothing/jeans-pants/trousers

2) I recently learned that in many discount stores (Nordstrom Rack, DSW, etc), you can actually ask a sales associate for a different sized item if you can’t find it in the store..and they will ship it to you if they have it somewhere in the US. WHAT?! Yes. I know. So actually it does pay to look through various sizes if you’re searching for something in particular. Can’t find your size? Ask a sales associate!

It’s also monthly manicure day! This month was “fall treats” and I couldn’t resist sugary sweet pink nails and glitter (I know, there’s a theme here..and probably an addiction!)

  1. Looking good! Nothing like pink to make everything better! I’ve heard the quality of BR pants are pretty good, but I have yet to find the right fit 😣 Will definitely have to check out that article.
Hope things get easier for you and your business😊 Hang in there! It will all be worth it.

  3. I love those flats – so cute!! And I also love how your nails perfectly coordinate with your outfit – too cute, and a fun, unexpected color combo for fall! 🙂
