feeling very fall

First and foremost, I want to thank everyone for the well wishes for our wedding last weekend! Now that the wedding planning is complete, I am back to catching up on the rest of life :)! It seems that while I was planning away, fall had officially arrived in the Chicago area. As I walked through the preserves to take these photos, I couldn’t help but pause for a few moments in the autumn quiet. Heart and head are content. This is my feeling very fall look.

Fashion Huntress tips:

1) This skirt ended up being much more versatile than I expected; as you can see below, I’ve styled it in spring/summer, winter, and fall. Despite the bold print, the skirt really does pair well with all different tops and accessories. Given the bold print, I focus on keeping the rest of the look streamlined with neutral tops and accessories.

2) We remain in the part of fall here in Chicago where many mornings are cooler, and the afternoons tend to warm up. As a result, I basically live in lots of layers. I find that I really have been drawn towards my cape this fall, as it is versatile- both indoor and out- and adds a nice layer of warmth, for crisp mornings. Capes and shawls are nearly everywhere these days; you can find them in just about any discount store (Nordstrom Rack, TJ Maxx, Marshall’s). And, if you’re like, you may have saved a few shawls from a few years ago when they were popularized again. If so, pull them out now! It’s the perfect time of year!

  1. That skirt is EVERYTHING . Also love the incorporation of the button down layered under the sweater; you are definitely the queen of layering. I’m always ridiculously impressed and taken aback by your genius tactics on styling layers. Wishing you a lovely fall season ahead; can’t wait to see your other outfits for this season.
