pausing in plaid

Okay, seriously, I feel really confident that I’ll be caught up with life and the Fashion Huntress in about 12 more days, after our wedding! I can’t believe how fast the time has flown! I hope everyone is having a great start to fall- and was able to see the super sweet lunar eclipse last night! I saw it for a bit, as the clouds passed. To add to the magic, I even caught a glimpse of a heron in the early morning near our house when we were up north this weekend, and a deer just sitting around and relaxing! It may sound a little odd, but it felt like sort-of a magical day. I am a major nerd when it comes to nature and couldn’t help but take a few moments to take it all in. As quickly as time passes, it’s refreshing to just take a pause and breathe. This is my taking a pause in plaid look.

Fashion Huntress tips:

1) For any other nail polish fans out there, I recently tried out the new Sally Hansen “Big Peel Off” base coat. You can see the results below. I LOVE glitter on my nails, but hate removing it. I tried the peel off base coat (only about $5 at Target) and found that it definitely easily peels off. Though, my nails looked “chipped” after day one in spots where I must have rubbed the polish off. Meh. I’ll give it a few more days, but so far, I find it only so-so in terms of longevity, though do agree that it does come off easily (maybe a little too easily!).

2) Flannel season has begun again, readers! If you’ve followed my blog through the change of seasons before, you know I’m a huge fan of plaids. I like the versatility of the black and red plaid; you can last see it featured below. I love finding plaid at resale shops. It’s so easy to thrift; just go straight to the “button down” section and look for flannels. Always check for 1) holes 2) missing buttons and 3) pilling. You generally can’t fix pilling well, so I always skip anything that is already pilled.

Anyone else have tips for the peel off base coats? Loving fall fashion? Thanks so much for stopping by, readers! I appreciate it so very much!
