Something about this dress feels very Alice in Wonderland to me…Alice wandering around, checking out the scenery, pondering where she may go next…I’m channeling Alice today, open to where ever that may lead me…
“Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?”
“That depends a good deal on where you want to get to.”
“I don’t much care where –”
“Then it doesn’t matter which way you go.”
― Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland
Dress: eShakti custom-sized dress (on sale, around $30, I think?)
Blazer: thrift ($5)
Bracelets: from years ago and/or thrifted!
Shoes: Derek Lam via TJ Maxx ($60 marked down from $350)
Fashion Huntress tips:
1) I personally love a good belted dress, but there’s something so liberating about not belting an otherwise voluminous dress! In order to keep this dress a little more streamlined for work, I added a buttoned up blazer for meetings, which gave the look more structure and a more “professional look.” I can’t say it enough- blazers can take just about any dress from cocktails to coffee very easily, which gives them a ton more versatility.
2) I’ve been noticing lately that not all TJ Maxxs and Marshalls are created equal. I tend to frequent the downtown Chicago (Michigan Ave/Magnificent Mile) stores when I’m in the area, and find that the selection definitely includes a lot more high-end brands than other locations. On the other hand, it all depends on what you are looking for, which may impact the location you choose. The one store that tends to always carry designer, regardless of the location, is Nordstrom Rack. Happy hunting!
