colorful in coral (and cold!)

Brrr! It is alternating between downright balmy and then downright breezy in Chicago! How does one dress for 90 degree weather that then switches to 50 degree weather? Colorful layers! Well, at least, I’ve decided that’s how! When I’m busting out leggings and boots in June in Chicago, something is definitely amiss. But, since I have a lifelong love of leggings and layers, I’m happily accepting this weather. It’s cold, coral, and colorful! Happy weekend, readers!

Fashion Huntress tips:

1) I’m never totally sure about wearing leggings and boots in “summer,” but when the weather gets cold enough to warrant that type of dressing, then I get on board. I pinned quite a few articles about how to wear boots in spring and summer to my Pinterest board, if you’re interested in reading more. You all know that I love getting year-round use in my wardrobe and was thrilled to see the number of looks that involve boots for summer! Check out my Pinterest board if you’re looking for more inspiration- you can find it here.

2) This is definitely the time of year to pick up blazers on sale, if you’re in the market for any. Charity shops/thrift shops, in particular, have a lot of sales on blazers, given that this is the “off season.” I’ve even picked up a couple of winter coats for $10-$30, recently. They are happily sitting in my closet, just waiting for fall and winter. Even though you may not be using them now, off season shopping is a great way to snag seriously good deals. In stores, many of the fall and winter clothes are sold out, but online and in thrift stores are still stocking quite a few cold weather items. I even noticed that places like Nordstrom Rack did had some winter coats around, as well as spring jackets. This weekend is the Clear the Rack event at Nordstrom Rack, so it’s a good time to grab any items you’ve been looking for on “super sale.”  More details are here: https://www.facebook.com/NordstromRack

  2. It is way too hot for me in NC right now! I wish weather was like that here. Coral is one of my favorite colors! Loving this outfit ❤️
