totally jazzed in a jumpsuit (part 2)

After I recently discovered my love of the jumpsuit, I have been stumbling upon so many jumpsuit gems! This Anthro find was no exception. I’m going to keep this short and sweet. I’m totally jazzed in a jumpsuit- again!

Fashion Huntress tips:

1) As I mentioned in my last jumpsuit post, jumpsuits are a little tricky on the fitting, if you ask me. I’ve had some trouble finding a jumpsuit that fits perfectly right off the hanger. When you think about it, though, it’s really no surprise. A jumpsuit is a top and a bottom in one piece, assuming that we all are one size on top and bottom! Don’t be discouraged if you’re having the same issue! I found that a little basic tailoring goes a long way. I “pulled in” the top of this jumpsuit by sewing the top in a little smaller under each arm. Five minutes, needle and thread, and you’ve got a perfectly fitting piece!

2) Wow, I’m super late on the matte nail trend, huh?! Nails are not my forte though, readers, as you all know! Anywho, I received the Essie “matte” top coat as a gift from my cousin- and I’m a huge fan! It makes any color a “matte” color. However, I’ve found that the matte top coats work best on colors that are “flat” meaning no metallic, sheen, or glitter in them. Below you can see how I recently used a tooth pick (for the nail art on my thumb) and a matte top coat for a fun spring manicure.

Anyone else have jumpsuit tips? I hope everyone is having a good week thus far! Happy mid-week and thanks for stopping by!

  1. Fierce girl! I love this jumpsuit on you👌 I’m so happy to see you’re still loving the jumpsuit trend!
I usually have a hard time finding the perfect fit too that because I’m short waisted with long legs…but I did stumble upon a brand called Splendid and they seem to have a better cuts when it comes to jumpsuits. I’ve only had to do very minor tailoring to them.

  2. I just now realized why I am so intensely interested in your blog, Melissa, besides really liking YOU. I am studying fashion so that when it comes to my next Life, I will just KNOW what to wear, how to wear it, and where to buy!!! Wow, you are looking glam!!! Love, Amy ❤

  3. I love a good jumpsuit but have stayed away from them because I am vertically challenged! You look fabulous in this double color suit though..Love the addition of the hat and belt, makes the outfit perfect! And can we talk about the awesome blue nails? I have not tried matte nails yet..i am definitely more of a shine/glossy kinda girl as far as nails are concerned, but not the sparkling kind though…

  4. Whow that’s jumpsuit and culottes in one outfit! Brilliant! And yes, the day I am comfortable with basic tailoring will be the day I can strut in jumpsuit 😦 so lazy to do that though ! Gosh

  5. i know i’m late & everything, but WOW. i am in LOVE with your jumpsuit! it looks like layered clothes, not like a conventional jumpsuit at all… and $17 is such a steal!
