jazzed in a jumpsuit

Umm, I haven’t been this jazzed about a trend since I realized I could wear denim tops to work, readers. I decided I am LOVING the jumpsuit trend. For the record, I had tried on shorts/rompers many times in the past, before I realized I just feel more comfortable in a full length/pant jumpsuit. My fiance, J, is endlessly supportive of my quirky fashion, but he just could not get on board for this trend, noting, “you will definitely look back and question this one.” I laughed and decided he may be right…but, for real, today, I’m totally jazzed in a jumpsuit.

Fashion Huntress tips:

1) To order a jumpsuit or a romper is pretty challenging due to the specificity of the fit of these types of pieces. However, once I busted out my tape measure and got really committed to using the “size chart” offered online, I was able to order this jumpsuit online and have it fit perfectly! I generally ignore the size charts online, to be honest, which, I know, is probably surprising and a bad habit! Size charts really do help with knowing whether a piece will fit and whether some basic alterations, on your end, will help ensure that your online pieces will fit like a glove.

2) While many people can sport a jumpsuit/romper without a belt, I quickly identified that the no-belt look wasn’t going to work for me and my proportions.  Additionally, the blazer helped add a better sense of proportion and balance to the look.  Overall, the jumpsuit was one of the more challenging pieces I’ve styled, but I found that patience was key. Once I tried on a few belts, some heels, and various blazers, I was able to find a combination that looked professional and balanced. As with most trendy pieces, I highly recommend styling your challenging pieces by trying them on with a variety of combinations. The “flat lay on the bed” method just doesn’t seem to work for me when I’m styling a “trendy” piece.

Anyone else have jumpsuit and/or romper styling tips? Thanks so much for stopping by, readers! I hope everyone had a good weekend!

  1. I LOVE this on you! You’re right, too, it’s tough to find a jumpsuit that fits correctly, but if you truly take advantage of the measurements like you did, you’re much more likely to find one!

  2. This by far has got to be my ultimate favorite outfit of yours! You pull this trend off impeccably and I LOVE how quirky and fun you made the overall look. That jumpsuit truly is everything and YES could not agree with you more on the importance of utilizing size charts when ordering online; it really is accurate!

  4. I was just talking about jumpsuits earlier today! I think I love the idea of them but I just cannot get on board with actually wearing one. I feel like I’m going to end up looking suuuuper frumpy. It seems like blazers are the go-to for styling them, which I’m absolutely loving. But I still cannot get jazzed about them! This post is definitely getting me more excited for them, though.

  8. I have always love the idea of rocking a jumpsuit, but I am so short that most of the ones I have seen in store aren’t meant for shorts gals like myself. I’m still hopeful that I will find one that will fit my body and not drag on the floor. Great tips on how to style the tricky jumpsuit!

  9. I absolutely love this jumpsuit on you!! You are rocking it and I am so glad you’ve decided to embrace it because who cares if this trend doesn’t last, it’s fantastic while it’s here! 😉

  10. Wow this is so cute! I haven’t jumped into the jumpsuit trend myself yet. I think they look great on other people – I’m just wondering how long this particular trend is going to hang around. LOL, I’m just getting so old and boring! 😀 You look wonderful, and I ADORE the handbag.
