spring in my (gold) step

IMG_4481

I feel like shouting from the rooftop, “AT LAST!” Spring is here in full force now, and my down coat and Uggs are officially retired until further notice. It’s funny how a little bit of sunshine and warmth brings so much light to our spirits. I’m practically skipping around this spring, with a lot of spring (pun intended) in my gold step.

Fashion Huntress tips:

1) Pastel pants ended up being a lot more versatile than I expected. Though I will say that one downside to these particular Gap pants is they look wrinkled pretty early on in the day. I’m never a huge fan of the wrinkled pants prior to around 4 or 5 pm! However, I did some research and it looks as though this could potentially be prevented. I will try this out and report back! In terms of versatility, these pants (and necklace) were last seen here:

2) Peplum can be very tricky to style, but I love that it’s still in style this season! I thought it would add volume to looks, but it actually helps pull in the waist and then flares out from the waist, which is a great cut/style. I like peplum with skirts and pants, especially high waisted pants. Pinterest, as always, has amazing ideas for styling peplum. Here are some peplum looks below:

Anyone else have peplum or no-wrinkle pants tips? Thanks so much for stopping by readers! I appreciate it so very much!

  1. This look is great! And those gold wedges are stunning!

Peplum tops are notoriously difficult to style. I’ve just decided they look terrible on me and avoid them at all costs. You seem to have mastered the art of styling them, though!

My favorite trick for preventing wrinkles starts pretty early in the day. I’ll hang whatever I’m planning on wearing in the shower with me, usually right behind the shower head as far away from the water as I can get it. It’s going to still get a little bit wet but will dry as you get ready for the day. The steam in the shower makes any last wrinkles fall out and I’ve found it keeps them out all day. I feel like the steam relaxes everything then as the pants cool off again, they’re more inclined to sit wrinkle-free rather than get saggy and gross.

  2. I love the spring in your step 🙂 It’s so true a little warmer weather does wonders for the soul! Beautiful spring look, love the gold shoes!! Let us know how the wrinkle prevention tips work out because I’ve tried it all but I find some pants just wrinkle no matter what I try! Grrrr
