(almost) blazin heat in a blazer

IMG_3960
I’m happy to report sunshine and “warm” temperatures here in Chicago today, readers! I, for one, couldn’t be more thrilled. Of course, it’s just a matter of time before I start talking about how I can’t wait for fall. The grass is always greener, right? Well, this Monday I’m trying to stay focused on the here and now, and appreciating the present…which is definitely a present of sun and warmth today. (Sorry, you know I cannot resist a pun…). Happy Monday, readers!

Fashion Huntress tips:
1) I tend not to get too creative with blazers. As a result of this, I was really missing out on the full potential that a “statement” blazer can bring to a look. It’s funny how often we overlook a potential fashion change, right? I used to solely wear black blazers because I thought “blazers are black.” Then I realized that blazers are actually a great way to wear a statement piece! Think through some of your “fashion standards” to consider if there are ways to change up your look!
2) T-shirts are always tricky at work. Unless I’m dressing up my t-shirts pretty significantly, I try and avoid wearing them to work. Adding a blazer or cardigan is generally a straight forward way to dress-up a t-shirt for work. Below you can see a couple of ways I’ve dressed up my t-shirts to make them work-ready.

  1. perfect yellow blazer for a sunshiney day, i say! 😉
plus, the pic where your feet are flying reminds me of the Wizard of Oz, even though you weren’t wearing red ruby slippers! 😀 i know, i always get reminded of the weirdest things, but i do mean it as a compliment!

  2. I am absolutely levitating in this gorgeous spring weather!! I dont think I could have asked for a better March, EVER. Love your yellow blazer lady, I have been in the look out for one for ever..btw, is Savers, a chicago local thrift shop? I havent found any here..checked them online though, but seems like they dont do online..some of the pieces you have found are jaw droppingly gorgeous!

  3. Those are such cute shoes, is that heel comfortable. I’ve always wondered if kitten heels are comfy because the heel height is so tiny. Anyhow I love this blazer look on you, like you I bought mainly black blazers. But now I try to pick out more colourful blazers as they make coats too.
