As I looked at my calendar today, I remembered that Daylight Savings is happening this weekend. Doesn’t it feel as though we just “fell back?” As rough as “springing forward” and losing an hour is less than ideal, I can’t help but feel the warmth and sun on the horizon. I have my head in the clouds today dreaming of spring showers, flowers, and the smell of spring…I realized that this may be one of my last dark tones and tights looks for a while. With the promise of 50 degree weather next week, it feels as though the long winter may be coming to a close. Well, here’s to hoping at least, right?

Fashion Huntress tips:
1) This outfit was easily a “winter look” with all dark tones and tights. However, I plan on still wearing each of the pieces (minus the tights) come spring. The top, for example, can be paired with a pair of pastel pants. I’ll pair the skirt with a light colored top. Essentially, take one dark piece and pair it with one light piece for spring; you cannot go wrong with pastels! And if pastels aren’t your thing, then you can always pair darker pieces with a cream or white top.
2) I really do love tights and wearing them all throughout fall and winter. However, I find that some of my sheer or netted tights don’t always seem appropriate for work. As a result, I’ve recently started layering my tights. As you can see from my last post, there’s actually two pairs of tights there!

The black pair is very netted and not really work appropriate. However, with the blue underneath, they worked perfectly! Try it out!
Anyone else layer their tights? Waiting for spring? Thanks so much for stopping by, readers! I appreciate it so very much!

I like layering tights in winter, or even for effect at other times – fishnet or looser weave lace always look good over brighter colours, or even over grey or more muted tones for more depth. It feels cosy too. However, I do think that fishnet or lace CAN be work appropriate in their own right – small hole net/micronet can be really elegant and smart with a suit, pencil skirt or work-like dress, and so can more lacy geometrics. Now I am wondering if it is just me and I am being wholly inappropriate. But no, I often see and admire that look on the street of London !! I think this might be the first time I have commented on your blog – so let me say I find your fashion really inspiring. Kx
No- that’s a great point!! Excellent point and I’m glad you shared it!
