Well, readers, I fear it has begun…my slightly irrational attachment to flannel and sweaters has started up again this season. I promise, I will do my very best to not just feature flannel and sweaters for the next six snowy/cold months in Chicago. I might as well just say it: I, The Fashion Huntress, have an addiction to warm layers and flannel. I even pulled out my snow boots and down coat…there’s no turning back, readers. The cold is here to stay. I’m going to keep it fashionable, though, because the cold will not stop the Huntress (except when it gets below zero. Then all bets are off).
Sweater: Banana Republic (approx $17 marked down from approx $70)
Flannel: H&M ($20 marked down from $25)
Pants: Ann Taylor Loft (approx $20 marked down from $100)
Shoes: Miss Mooz via Nordstrom Rack (long time ago, can’t remember anymore!)
Necklace: Forever 21 (approx $3)
Fashion Huntress tips:
1) This sweater and flannel were last seen worn differently as seen below. I love fall and winter layering because it gives you many more opportunities to wear the same pieces over and over, but in new ways! Sweaters and button downs can be rotated and combined endlessly, and when you swap out the pants, you have even more options!
2) There are quite a bit of button downs and sweaters on sale now, but most of them are from the “fall collections.” Personally, I wear “fall sweaters” and “winter sweaters” interchangeably throughout the seasons, especially with layers. So, now’s a great time to pick up sweaters and button downs, though remember that boots, scarves, and winter coats are not likely to be on sale for at least another 1-3 months, so you may want to hold out on those items!
Anyone else getting ready for winter fashion now? Pulling out the sweaters and layers? Thanks so much for stopping by, readers! I appreciate it so much! I hope everyone had a great weekend!
I love the colours!! ^_^
Love the boots 🙂
Love how you mixed all the patterns! Plaid shirts are the best this time of year!
Those red shoes are divine. Love!
You’re always so creative in putting together ensembles with what you already have in your closet!
I still have YET to own a red flannel shirt. Do you know how hard it is to find one that’s the ‘right one’. I’ve been on the hunt since last year. I’m determined to find it this season.

I KNOW! It is hard to find the perfect flannel!! I find that the men’s wear flannels are seriously softer and warmed than the women’s! I hope you find one- let us know if you do~!!
Maybe I’ll just go to the men’s dept 🙊
Great outfits! Nice job I really like the photography very well done! Visit me at harborfashion.wordpress
Ha I love it. And true story, sweaters and flannel are here to stay for the next 4-6 months. I say embrace it. There isn’t much else to do about it…

LOL good point.
I LOVE your sweater. Green? Blue? Stripes? <3!! Please tell me if you ever decide to rid yourself of it.
Also, yes layering for winter is fun, but I'm SO ready to start summer fashions again. I'm tired of all my sweaters, tights, jackets and boots.

Nothing wrong with a sweater or flannel obsession. I am obsessed with cable knit this season and I have to stop myself from wearing it constantly!! Love this look!

How do you hunt for such beautiful and perfect backgrounds for your photo shoots..!!! You are a perfect background huntress too. Hehe 😂😊
hahaha! My shoes need some serious organizing lately!! LOL but thank you~! We try and pick fun backgrounds, though it gets a little trickier when it starts to get cold and we have to take them all indoors. It’s a good challenge, right?! 🙂
