Every once in a while, fashion rules come up on the Fashion Huntress. One rule that often comes up is “no white after Labor Day,” which we’ve pretty much all agreed is not really a rule anymore anyway. I completely agree, so I’m celebrating breaking rules, or lack thereof, in all bright white. I hope everyone had a nice long weekend; they always seem to just go by too quickly, right? Ah well, four more days until the next one…

Fashion Huntress tips:
1) Summer white, despite no real rules, does seem to be slightly different that winter white. I actually saw an interesting article in Vogue about the apparent difference:
As you know, my general rule is that there are no rules, just wear what you love! But, nonetheless, I did enjoy looking through and reading the article. And, I agree that ivory and cream seem to lend themselves well to fall and winter.
2) Speaking of rules, I went back and forth about wearing hot pink shoes at work quite a bit. As you may know, I have worn them before at work and, ultimately, decided that they are fine at work if toned down quite a bit. I think the all white look makes the shoes still look quite bright, but not overly “showy.” I’m a firm believer that many things that can worn at work, as long as it’s done in a more “conservative” way. Fun shoes deserve to be worn, after all. I mean, you wouldn’t want them sitting all lonely in your closet, right? Lol, okay, I need to stop talking about how clothes and shoes have feelings.
Anyone else have white rules? Non rules? I hope everyone has a great day! Thank you for stopping by!
Work it girl! Rules are meant to be broken!
Attagurl! Break those old fashioned rules!!! Looking fab with that splash of hot pink too! I’m literally typing this while wearing a long white maxi tank dress – tee hee!!
Woot!! Great minds totally break rules, right!?
Melissa, I am DROOLING over those shoes! OH! How you torment me! I WANT those shoes! But I am not able to walk in heels. OH bummer! I wish I didn’t see this post, but now that I have, I am in agony. I LOVE THOSE SHOES!!!!! Love, LadyPINKRose
LOL thanks LadyPINKRose :)!! I had you feel you would like them!!
cheers to breaking rules!!
OMG killer!! xx
I agree ! White is such a lovely color that limiting it to seasons is foolish and an insult to it range of expression in style….
I agree! Yous should wear what makes you feel comfortable. And today, it was a day to wear white. So hot and humid which means Summer is still here and white is the right color!
Love the accents of pink!

LOVE IT! I totally agree!
LOVE those shoes! I’ve been on the hunt for a hot pink pair but I can’t seem to come across any that I like!
It took me a long time to find them too! Hot pink adult heels are not easy to come by!
You always look lovely 😀 love the shoess so much
Love the all-white look with just the pops of hot pink – very stylish! And that white lace top is so pretty!! 🙂

I have always wanted to be dressed in head to toe white but I am a chicken! 😛 I love your interpretation with that pop of color! 🙂
I can’t wear all white, hopefully one day 😦 but i love your look, and the shoes especially ❤
I love this one you! Walk on the wild side, huntress!
I’m usually not a big fan of pink but, I really do love how you paired the shoes with an understated monotone outfit. I still can’t get over how long your hair is!! Looks great. And overall, I do agree that white can be worn anytime. I think that skin tone makes a difference though. Ivory looks better on my than stark white.
Thanks for sharing!
Aww thanks!! I’m really trying to grow it!!
White, everything white, I absolutely adore this outfit and that touch of pink! x
I like this combination of colors, looks so fresh late in the summer!
Oh my I love the pop of color in your accessories and how they compliment your beautiful lacy top. Great recommendations by the way! One rule that I abide by – have fun with mixing and matching and always let YOU shine through your outfits, and not the other way around 😉
🙂 that is a GREAT rule!! I completely agree!
No white after Labor Day is a rule that was meant to be broken, especially if it’s in an outfit like this! Pink heels, yes please!
xx Cara
I LOVE the pop of pink. 😀 I totally agree that many things can be worn at work too. It shouldn’t really be OK that I feel absolutely fine in jeans, but a little weird in a vintage top…

What a cute outfit! For some reason, the no white after labor day rule has been hard for me to break. I think I’m going to find a way to break it this weekend. Thanks for the inspiration!
I am obsessed with wearing white! You have absolutely perfected it here. Great shoes by the way!
The sign say No Smoking but you look smoking right in front of it 😉
Rules are made for breaking! xxx
Perfectly pink shoes!!! ❤ I'm in love =)
As the saying goes, rules are meant to be broken, hehe, and you’re looking ‘smoking hot’ in your florescently accented whites! XOXO N & N
