planning a path (30 days no shopping, day 25)

IMG_1453

Maybe it’s the change of seasons or fall anticipation, but I’ve been feeling a little unsure of my path lately. I think I’m headed in the right direction…but the path doesn’t seem so clear. As a result, my brain has been all sorts of jumbled lately. So, I’m going to leave it at that today. The photos were shot at the subway, which I think nicely captures the idea of going somewhere…wherever the world will takes us, I guess. Good thing I’m in my walking shoes.

Fashion Huntress tips:

1) While Cole Haans can be pricey, I’m a huge fan of their shoes and the Nike Air collaboration. They truly are some of the most comfortable heels I own, and are so lightweight! Cole Haan always has a great sale selection on their website, and Nordstrom Rack tends to stock a lot of their shoes as well. I’ve heard that the Nike Air/Cole Haan collaboration to scheduled to end sometime soon-ish, so grab the shoes while you can, if you are interested in a pair!

2) While I’m still not shopping, I have continued my online perusal of stores and saw that Ann Taylor Loft has a 60% off their sale section sale going on right now. Most of the dresses are between $20-$30, so check them out if you are interested. Additionally, Marshalls is having a clearance event, and holy moley, there are a lot of clothes on clearance! I saw a lot of maxi dresses for around $20, though I made it out without buying anything! Check out their clearance section, if you are so inclined and still shopping. Shop for me!

I’m almost done with my no shopping challenge! Woo hoo! Congrats to all other who are also currently underway- you can do it! Thanks so much for stopping by readers. I hope everyone has a great rest of the week and weekend!

  1. Oh, Melissa, what I would give to be able to walk in those shoes. OH! They are to die for!! *drooling* WOW! And you look stunning as per usual! (((HUGS))) Amy

      1. Not with my back they wouldn’t be. LOL I know my limits, Melissa. I used to wear heels all the time. Now? Um, no. (((HUGS))) Amy

  2. Love the look and really admire your discipline 🙂 I’d love to do it but somehow I always make excuses last minute. Eventually I’ll get to it though and hope I can be as clear minded as you are! X Maja

      1. That’s awesome 🙂 But it also kinda made me sad, because I do that from necessity, not as a challenge. I don’t buy clothes more expensive than 10 dollars in the last years (second hand and outlets), and most accessories I have I buy on e-Bay or made. I rarely go to shop, I go to “look”. Is that lame?

      2. Not at all! Even though I resale/second hand and sale shop, I still think it’s good to just take a break. We should all take notes from you! 🙂 I like the idea of going to look at shops, which is what I’ve been doing lately. I really appreciate your comment. Thanks for sharing!

      3. I will go through some more of your posts to check it out 🙂

Oh, tell me about it. When you have no other choice, you became the master of saving money 🙂

      4. We have a site called mojekrpice which translates roughly to my clothes, people use that platform and Facebook to put clothes, shoes, jewelry, and anything they don’t longer want or is to small/big/whatever and they put a price on it. We can switch, I have switched many times, in fact in this moment I have a sport pants on that I have switched for in exchange for my long black tunic I was no longer wearing. It is so awesome that I have been using this for over a year now. I can always find new stuff, I can find used/cheaper… Anything. Plus, I love to go on sales in outlet when everything is 5 kuna (1 dollar)

      5. Wow- that is such a good idea. I wish we had something like that here…I wonder if we do? Sometimes people here do clothing swaps where they trade clothes, but it’s normally in person. I’ve gone before and it was really nice to see my clothes get new homes and then get other’s things that will get used.

  3. I have also found that zappos has great deals on Cole Haan shoes… plus free shipping and no sales tax!!

  4. My favourite is your shirt! … I’m reading “The Magic” to try and focus my goals and have a more clear path xxx

  5. Those are my kinda of walking shoes! Great colour and style! You have less than 5 days to go, I’m excited for you!
I can related to that feeling of wondering whether or not you’re on the right path…especially when we doubt ourselves even if it’s just for a moment. But then I always remember this quote that I read somewhere – Find what makes your heart smile -. Its always reminds me to trust myself.
