I’ve been thinking about reflections these past few days- both what we see in ourselves and what we see in others. While I’ve had some unfortunate interactions this week, I’ve had many more interactions that remind me of the kindness of those around us. In reflecting on what I see in so many others, I remind myself to let go of those that leave me feeling drained. Hopefully, as a result of letting go, I can reflect the same kindness that I’ve received for those who need it. What better way to reflect than sitting quietly in a windowsill while wearing a watercolor reflections dress? I’m not sure how this directly relates to fashion, but I do know I always feel better when I’m wearing a great dress (that I found at a great price).

Fashion Huntress tips:
1) I almost passed this dress up because I couldn’t think of how to winterize it! When I added a knee length sweater, however, I realized how easy it was. If you’re in a shop and you see something you like, but aren’t sure how to wear it, just grab something in the store to try on with the piece in question. Additionally, if I’m going dress shopping, I normally wear leggings so I can picture how the dress will look with tights.
2) As many of you know, I’m a big fan of consignment…as long as I like the shop! When shopping for this dress, I overheard someone asking for a markdown on a piece because it had makeup on it. Interestingly, the salesperson apologized profusely saying it never should have gone to the floor with a mark on it. My advice is two-fold: first, always double check everything, no matter where you are! Secondly, most nice consignment shops sell pieces that are highly scrutinized. You can look online to see what type and condition of clothing a consignment shop accepts. I’ve never seen a mark or snag on anything in the shop I frequent, so research well and you shouldn’t have any issues. If you
do, tell the salesperson right away, and you can gauge their reaction. In this case, it was very clear the salesperson was embarrassed to have missed something and was quick to resolve the issue.
Anyone else have consignment feedback to share?
Happy mid-week, readers! Thank you for stopping by!
wow, you get some great bargains!
This outfit is great – it’s like a head to toe story!
Here’s to letting go of what does not serve us – and embracing what does. This is a beautiful “reflection” of who we truly are. . . You look amaze! Loving that watercolor dress with black tights! xxx
What a pretty dress! Love it with the cardigan and tights.
I love that necklace! The colours in that dress are beautiful. I am lucky there are some really nice consignment shops near my place. The staff are really picky when to comes to what they take which is a good thing.
I think there’s a lot of dress ones- as long as they are super picky, then I think they are definitely worth visiting!!
Love winterizing dresses and leggings and cardigans. I also love belting the cardigans around the dress at the natural waist to create more of a womanly shape. Great tips!
Color you beautiful! 🙂
That’s Such A Gorgeous Dress!

This outfit is really pretty and colors are beautiful. I’m always drawn to Eliza J’s dresses. I usually find nice ones at Nordstrom Rack.

Great words of wisdom. Thanks for sharing and just to add a thought… Someone once told me this – ” If people can’t see you shining, it’s because their minds are cloudy” It stuck with me and I think of it whenever I encounter unflattering people.
Beautiful coloured dress, looks great on you! Good thing you didn’t pass it up, I have a feeling you’ll be getting a lot of use out of it 🙂

Awww!! Thank you so much!! xoxo
Gorgeous dress!
so lovely! florals are some of my favorite prints, no matter what season;)
I know the feeling of being drained by people, but like you said just gotta retract and reflect. Clothes always make me feel better, and not necessarily buy new clothes, but just picking something out of my closet and making an outfit from pieces I’ve never put together. I love it 🙂
That is so true and a great tip!! You don’t have to go out and get something new- changing up what you already have keeps your look and your mind fresh 🙂 thank you for the reminder!!
Hehe anytime 🙂 xx
A great dress can go a long way to making you feel better about life in general 🙂 It’s a pity that one negative experience can so easily wipe out ten positive things, but training yourself to focus on the good is the only way to get ahead. I’m still trying to figure that one out! 😉
Wow! I love the colors!!
Thanks, everyone, the lovely words of encouragement!! xoxoxo
Lol ‘elbow patches make it legit’ – SO TRUE! I love pretty much anything with elbow patches and think you look lovely for work!
