snow (and home) bound

I’m sorry to say that I seem to have caught some sort of bug. However, it’s -45 with the wind chill here. So, I feel that if I’m going to be sick, at least I’m snowed (and cold) in! Being that I was feeling over heated everywhere I went, I took the opportunity to take some snow photos without my coat. Don’t worry, it’s not -45 in these photos. I’m not that dedicated to fashion. No one should be.

Fashion Huntress tips:

1) I realized as I was posting this that I was wearing a fully Gap outfit. Gap has had some amazing sales in the past few weeks; most of their sale section has been 40-50% off. Most of the sweaters and scarves are around $10-$15 dollars. I opted for sweaters that are on the thinner side so that I could transition them into my spring ensembles. Their scarves are predominately brights and are big enough to wear as shawls. They might not really transition into spring due to their bulk, but I will try, regardless, check out sale their at: http://www.gap.com

2) I have seen a few posts where people are wearing scarves tucked into belts and wearing them as shirts. I think this is brilliant and am planning on trying it! In general, I think I need to  get more creative with scarves. I’ll post as soon as I manage to pull off something creative with a scarf. In the meantime, here’s a good article with great ideas: http://www.elleuk.com/style/street-style/your-way-to-wear-winter-scarves

Anyone have scarf suggestions? Ideas for braving the cold and still looking chic?

I hope those that are in cold climates are staying warm! Thanks to everyone for your ideas and comments! I appreciate it!

  1. I absolutely love that scarf! I’ve been on the hunt for a pretty plaid scarf but every store I’ve checked has run out of them.:( It’s supposed dip to -40 celcius with the windchill here overnight. Brrrrr. The past few weeks have been pretty frigid here. I recently got this infinity scarf from American Apparel’s warehouse outlet for $20 marked down from $34! http://store.americanapparel.ca/product/?productId=rsa0503&c=Cr%C3%A8me
I feel so snug and cozy when I wear it. I want it in every colour! Hope you feel better soon. Stay warm! – Donna

      1. I think it linked to the wrong colour. I got the olive green scarf.:) It is a pretty huge scarf and extremely warm! I went into Mendocino the other day because I’d seen a few I liked about a month ago and they’re all gone! (Do you have Mendocino there?)

  2. I have a surprising number of Gap items in my closet- I’ve found some real gems there through the years! Also, I love sales, also I love that scarf.

    Hope you feel better soon!

  3. Oh my goodness, that is cold! So weird to think I am lying in a hammock in my swimmers writing this!
Beautiful colours in that scarf and I hope you feel better soon x

  4. bahaha, “I’m not that dedicated to fashion, no one should be.” Fashion does, or should have its limits… Love this photo shoot and excited to see more scarf art. Hope you feel better soon!

  5. Love the outfit girl! I really feel for you guys overseas.. My god those temperatures are afwul! In Europe it almost feels like spring. Hope you stay warm and feel better soon.

  6. Fab winter warmer look! No one would guess that you’re feeling under the weather at all. I hope you get well soon lovely! (eat loads of oranges, that should help 🙂 )

  7. Get well soon! I’m so glad I took a bunch of pictures before it got this cold, I definitely haven’t been outside in about two weeks, but thankfully with a slow release of posts I’ve been able to say ha take that weather. Love those jeans and the scarf! 🙂

      1. It’s definitely rewarding! I was tempted to buy 3 scarves! But I figure I should spread out my purchases so I don’t feel guilty haha. The link didn’t work? Hmmm…weird. I’ll definitely take a pic.:)

      2. I might go back on for this red one with blue stripes I was eyeing. It was $12! I think I’ll go back for it on the weekend. If it’s still there…it was meant to be lol.:)
