(studded) dreams come true (again)

Don’t be fooled by these photos, readers. This fashion blogger is getting swept up in the holiday madness and falling a bit behind on posts. Thus, despite the fall colors in the background, it is, alas, not fall here in Chicago. Despite this being a “fall” post, I’m actually glad I can share it with you all after all! This was one of my favorite “casual not-so casual Friday” looks.

…for real, though, anyone else falling behind in their blogging besides me!? I’m also a bit behind in my cards, baking, wrapping. Oh, my. When all else fails, though, slip on your favorite heels or bundle up in your favorite scarf and maintain the look of organization, right? As we all learned from Elle Woods (Legally Blonde), always look the part.

Fashion Huntress tips:

1) While I took these photos in fall, this outfit definitely works for winter, with the addition of socks/knee socks/knee highs/tights. I totally planned this post knowing that I could talk about how versatile fall into winter fashion can be…(yes….likely story). Personally, I like to go with bare feet in flats/heels as long as possible because I don’t look knee highs or socks, but I think bare feet this late in the season looks a bit odd. When I do wear knee highs or socks, I generally find them at Marshall’s and DSW.  I’m curious what readers think- please comment below!

2) I’ve said it once and I will say it before, I am all about long-sleeve tee-shirts at work, especially on Fridays. I like to add more formal shoes and jewelry when I wear my long-sleeve tees to polish my look a bit. When I added the red cardigan, you really couldn’t even tell that this shirt was a long sleeve tee. I say go for comfort at work- just remember to dress up your look with easy add-ons such as jewelry or dressy shoes.

I’m curious what others think about bare feet in winter? Is there a bare foot rule?

  1. I’m wity you on falling behind on blogging 😦 I seriously need to step it up. On the footwear front – I think it totally depends on the climate you’re in. If its warm enough to bare it then why not? Merry Christmas from Glasgow to you x

  2. Not falling behind on my blogging – no I’m all up-to-date – 100%…. but definitely falling behind on the things I blog about! I am so late with a painting I’ve been asked to do, and I’ve got a couple of partially created sketches that I wanted to get done days ago…. And now I get slammed with a cold! and can’t have my festive chocolates for fear of making my cold worse!! Argh! At least I’ve just now this minute finished work for the year. That’s done and over. If only my cold would let up, I could then get back to my painting. Sorry for my mini rant!! You blog post came at just the right moment 🙂 Lucky you! I hope you get back on top of all the things you want to get done!

You’re looking good! My best wishes for Christmas and the new year!!!

    1. hahah! I totally hear you on this! I’m definitely still digging my way out of things (as you can see by my long overdue response!). I think that things really get back on track maybe the third week in January- LOL! Hope you are having a good start to the new year!!

  3. Also can’t stand nylons or knee socks – not how they look, but how they feel. My feet go bare with heels and flats in winter. Which means I wear boots almost every day. Boots and heavy, heavy socks.

  4. OMG those shoes remind me of Valentino rockstud. . . So insanely glam with the tee shirt . . you know me and the hi/low fixation . .. gorgeous post, no matter the season! xx

  5. I think cute trouser socks are nice when it’s bitter cold but, there seems to be no rule about this. You would probably say there are no rules in fashion period…but, you know I’m not comfortable with that!

  6. I am with you. I am so busy that I haven’t had time to read my favorite blogs lately. I still have to do some wrapping! Love the look. The shoes are really cute! Have a Merry Christmas!

  7. It’s definitely part of the season… I feel so behind too. Atleast I know it’s not just me. You definitely look like you have it all under control:) What are your glasses? Loving the red sides!

    xx Cara

  8. Great look, Perfect Flats! I am beyond behind….in everything. You’re not alone! Bare feet/bare legs: The rules are there are no rules. Do what you like, that’s what I’ve learned in the wonderful world of Fashion 😉 Have a Great Holiday!!!!

  9. I’m digging that necklace! And yes, I was behind in blogging for about a month. Finally starting to dig myself out of the weeks of bloglovin’ I didn’t stay on top of. #bloggingproblems 😉
