simply black and white with a splash (of color)

I don’t have much to say today, which is a bit odd for me. I think my just brain wants quiet time. But, thankfully it didn’t go on hiatus before I got dressed and made it through the day. Thanks, brain.

This is my simply black and white outfit with a splash of color. And yes, I sure did wear that necklace and those shoes yesterday. Thanks for not judging, you guys.

Fashion Huntress tips:

1) I sure did wear those shoes and necklace in my last post, but I changed them up by adding tights (instead of leggings) and double layering my long necklace into a short necklace. One way to change up shoes is by adding tights, leggings, different colored tights, or ankle pants. An easy way to change up necklaces is to layer them and/or doubling them up from a long necklace into a short necklace. No one will be the wiser if you use those easy change up tips!

2) I’ve actually never worn this dress with a scarf, especially not a flower print scarf. But, I liked the unexpected pattern and bit of color splash added to an otherwise black and white outfit. I generally like to get my scarves for under $10 at H&M, Nordstrom Rack, Limited, and Ann Taylor (clearance sections, of course).

Anyone else have good tips for accessories shopping on a budget?

Thanks so much for stopping by readers! I appreciate all of your support!

  4. Love the combination of the dress and scarf! I never would have paired them but you are right its a perfect combination. I often sales section of Macy’s jewelry. Its even better when you have a coupon. Also if you have a Francesca’s in your area, they often have BOGO sales.

  5. I knew you were right before but now I know for certain you were right about fashion souls sisters. That dress… not to mention every time I see those heels on you I want them that much more!

  6. Ugh give me your poses! I always rotate the same awkward poses. Haha, no judgement here, I do that alllllll thee time, especially on the days I don’t post you can bet your briches that I’m re-wearing something I literally just wore, and it’s okay brains get tired too. xx

  7. Ahhh I love this whole look! Haha maybe because I’m having a bit of a “mad about plaid” moment, but something about this just SPEAKS to me! The perfect color combo for winter and don’t even worry about the accessory repeats – I literally wear the same earrings and necklace every. single. day. We’re only human! 😉

  8. Love the plaid. It takes me back to the days when I tried to replicate all of the outfits from Clueless! And honestly, good for you for wearing the accessories two days in a row! We don’t judge. 🙂

  9. Love this…it’s the perfect naughty librarian look! Ha, well that’s at least what the boys call me when I put my glasses on and lady like clothes on! LOL They seem to love that look! 😛 You worked this whole look!
