Even though I normally post about professional looks, I do love a good weekend wear post here and there! We’ve had a few warm nights, so I’ve been enjoying my summer clothes mixed in with my fall clothes. And because it is the weekend, I’m definitely peppy in peplum.
Top: Express (approx $11 marked down from $30)
Cardigan: Banana Republic ($18 marked down from $70)
Jeans: Nordstrom Rack ($20 marked down from approx $50)
Shoes: Audrey Brooke at DSW ($30 marked down from $60)
Fashion Huntress tips:
1) I actually was wearing this cardigan in my last post. I have this cardigan in three colors, which I grabbed when from Banana Republic when they were on clearance. I think these three cardigans are the sweaters I wear most frequently throughout the year. I wear them from coffee to cocktails, which makes it easy to transition them for all sorts of events and times of day. I find that Banana Republic and J. Crew have great options for versatile cardigans that can be found on sale and are great quality.
2) I plan on wearing this top and cardigan with dress pants and closed toed heels for work. Here, it works for the weekend with jeans and heels. I frequently write about work clothes serving double duty as weekend wear, and this top is no exception. I’m also thinking of wearing it with a button down underneath, but need to try it out first! Either way, this is a perfect coffee to cocktail top.
Anyone else have pieces that they wear both during the week and on the weekend?
Thanks for reading and commenting, readers! I hope everyone had a good weekend!
I stock up on BR cardigans often, and in different colors as well. They work fantastically with almost everything. Looking super cute lady! 🙂
Great outfit! Love your peplum top and shoes!
Very lovely!
Perfect weekend wear! xx
Lovely ❤ Happy Monday!
Nice shooting! Love your top! xxx

Thanks!! My boyfriend took these- he’s got a great eye and I loved the construction look of the parking garage!
Love peplum!

Thank you!! I love yours! Xo
Beautiful outfit. The denim go well with every colors and you paired it very well with the red peplum. Love it.😃
cute, I’m never quite sure how to work peplum, but it looks great here and I like your idea of pairing it with a button down.
I love this casual look! Great tips as always! 🙂
Ohh great use of peplum! Yay can I use this picture for my color wheel challenge update? Also I love all your poses, I’m always so awkward when it comes to posing.
LOL I got feedback from a few people that I could loosen up, so I’ve tried to do that! There’s a LOT of awkward outtakes, but there’s a few gems too. I decided to just give up on the “this may look awkward” mentality. Don’t mind me posing awkwardly in this construction site…. :)!! And yes! You can!! xo
Hellooooo peplum! This combines basically everything I love: nautical stripes, navy and red (my faves!) and peplums, which are a total Godsend for people like me who never actually grew curves and therefore need carefully constructed clothing to give us a non-12 year-old boy look. Hooray!
I love that this top could totally go from work to play so easily too – I am all about fashion versatility… Heheh mostly because I’m too lazy to change outfits multiple times per day! 😉
I love peplum tops
I think I should try to start wearing peplum tops! Looks good on you dear 🙂
very cool pictures and you look amazing!
the peplum cut really suits you!
xoxo
Beautiful top + cardigan. I do that too, if I find something in a good price, sometimes I buy more than one in different colors or even the same item. Ahhh! xoxo
That is such a beautiful peplum top! I love it on you girl xo
