denim dress day

I wanted to wear my new heels this week, but decided to reserve them for an evening debut (though I think they are definitely work appropriate too!). I started my work day with a denim dress from Nordstrom Rack and a cardigan. I added the polka dot shoes that I seem to be wearing all the time!

The cardigan has beautiful bead work and the dress has great shoulder detail:

Dress: Love Ady at Nordstrom Rack ($20 marked down from approx $80)

Cardigan: Banana Republic ($27 marked down from approx $80)

Shoes: Gap ($21 marked down from $50)

To transition this look from work to evening, I simply added a heel and ditched the cardigan!

Fashion Huntress tips:

1) Nordstrom Rack has a great clearance section for dresses. However, they also have quite a few $20 price point dresses in the regular dress section. I’ve looked in a different few locations and this does seem to be a theme at all of them. You can either ask a salesperson, or search on your own for the racks that have the $20 price point. They are often clustered together amidst higher priced racks. Those dresses are often more discounted than the clearance rack! That method was how I found the denim dress posted here, and others.

2) Readers, you know I love denim at work. It’s so versatile! Use it as a neutral and add your favorite accent colors. I added the coral cardigan and blue shoes for work. Then, for night, I dressed it up with heels. It was simple to dress up the denim with the fancy couture (and so affordable!) shoes! Easy peasy!
