“I consider lace to be one of the prettiest imitations ever made of the fantasy of nature; lace always evokes for me those incomparable designs which the branches and leaves of trees embroider across the sky, and I do not think that any invention of the human spirit could have a more graceful or precise origin.” Coco Chanel, 1939
So true, Coco. Lace dresses, like peplum, are a trend I have wanted to try. When I found this dress at H&M, it seemed like the perfect opportunity. I have to tell you, I first tried this dress on in a cream color. It definitely looked like an informal wedding dress to me, but maybe you guys will have more success with the cream colored version. To avoid the wedding look, I opted for the burgundy color. It is a little on the short side for work, so I think tights will be essential to making this work appropriate. Stay tuned…
Original price of the lace dress = $40, paid = $15

Fashion Huntress tips:
1) I bought this dress at H&M in the sale section, once the sale had become 50% off the initial sale price. Those sales (sales on sales) are obviously the best deals, so keep an eye out for them!
2) Some of the dresses in the sale section were informal and made of thin (somewhat cheap) material. The lace dress was the hidden gem. In stores that have ‘hit or miss’ quality, look through the sale section for fabrics and materials that seem more substantial and well made.
