How I Wore It…lavender peplum spring look

It’s been raining for days here, but that is not stopping our spring spirit!

Well…it may be stopping my spirit, but it is not stopping my spring fashion!

Here is how I wore the lavender peplum find from Nordstrom Rack:

I paired the top with a charcoal pencil skirt from Banana Republic. The skirt is high-waisted and fitted, which is a great basic shape with the top.  I added a long purple cardigan, purple tights in the same color as the cardigan, and black heels to complete the look. The purple cardigan and tights matched one of the flowers that repeats on the peplum top.

Skirt: Banana Republic ($20 marked down from $89)

Top: Soprano from Nordstrom Rack ($9 marked down from $36)

Cardigan: Forever 21 (I think about $18; I’ve had it for years!)

Tights: Hue tights from Filene’s ($3 marked down from $13.50)

Shoes: Aubrey Brooke from DSW ($12 marked down from $99)

Fashion Huntress tips:

1)  I paired two different purples together in this look, and picked up my second purple hue from one that was in the shirt. I kept the tights and the cardigan the same color to keep the look coherent and anchored. I think black tights might also work, but I personally love colored tights.

2) Peplum is fun! But, it took me numerous trips before I found one top that worked for me. If you like a trend that you see in magazines, try it in various shapes and colors until you find one that works for you.

Side note: I miss Filene’s. I wished it had not closed!
