Metallic pumps seemed like another one of my “must haves” for work…okay, for outside of work, too! The pair I wound up finding have about a 3.5-inch heel (pictured here) and a platform, which I think makes them a lot more comfortable. This is another pair that did not give me a single blister. Anyway, let us get down to the good stuff. These shoes were originally listed at $99. As you are probably learning, if you did not already know, there is a lot of joy in the DSW clearance section. These were my special find that day. When you join DSW rewards, you accrue $10 gift certificates for points earned. Apparently, I had earned those points quickly or there was a promotion, because I got two $10 gift certificates in the mail before I knew it.
Get ready for this. Brace yourself.
These shoes were marked down to $60 from $99…then 50% off (part of the clearance section)…then I added in the $10 gift certificate…and this pair had a slight scuff that I pointed out… so another 10% off. Total for the heels = $9.
Original price of the shoes = $99, paid = $9
Savings = $90
Fashion Huntress tips:
1) Join the rewards programs at stores, regardless of whether you shop there regularly. It seems as though some places send coupons independent of how often you shop there, so it may be worth your while.
2) For minor issues on sale items, bring it to the attention of the person at the register. Depending on how handy you are, these issues can often be fixed quickly on your own. The scuff on these heels almost deterred me, but I got out a silver Sharpie and fixed it myself. I draw the line on items that have stains, holes, etc. If it cannot be fixed, then it’s not worth any amount of money!
Side note: I wear these all the time! Conservative outfit + less conservative shoes = totally work appropriate. And, in this case, the metallic reads like a neutral.
